Children’s Ministry Director & Office Manager
About this position
Elevate Church is a new and growing church family in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa. We love Jesus and are passionate about helping others know and follow Him. We are seeking someone who is excited to lead children’s ministry and serve as an organized and supportive presence in the daily operations of the church.
This full-time role is a combination of Children’s Ministry Director and Office Manager. You’ll oversee our Elevate Kids ministry (birth through 5th grade), lead a team of volunteers, and create a welcoming, gospel-centered environment for kids and families. You’ll also support the church office by organizing events, managing communication systems, and assisting the Lead Pastor with scheduling and coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of Elevate Kids on Sundays and during special events
- Lead and encourage volunteers in nursery, preschool, and elementary environments
- Maintain a clean, safe, and fun atmosphere for children to grow in faith
- Partner with parents and support them through resources and communication
- Organize child dedications, VBS, and family outreach events
- Coordinate church-wide calendars and office scheduling
- Assist the Lead Pastor with meeting coordination and communication
- Respond to emails, maintain records, and ensure church communication runs smoothly
Qualifications
- Loves Jesus, values the church, and desires to invest in families
- Experienced in children’s ministry or early childhood education preferred
- Strong administrative, organizational, and communication skills
- Able to multitask and maintain a joyful, calm demeanor in a busy environment
- Works well with a team and thrives in a growing, flexible church setting
- Familiar with tools like Google Workspace, Planning Center, and email systems
